Big Finn Hill

Big Finn Hill Park is a 220-acre wooded oasis off of Juanita Drive. To the north of the road, the park offers soccer and baseball fields, a play area, and hiking trails. To the south, multi-use trails--frequented by mountain bikers, dog walkers, and hikers--wind and loop through a spectacular forest. With a variety of flora and terrain, recreationists occasionally spot deer, owls, hawks, and eagles.

The park is run by the county and is free.  It offers access via many trail points throughout Finn Hill.

St. Edward State Park

Saint Edward State Park is a 316-acre day-use park with 3,000 feet of freshwater shoreline on Lake Washington. Once a Catholic seminary, the park's rich history reflects in its grounds and architecture. Walks along the undeveloped lakeshore are peaceful and give the visitor many opportunities for nature study.

For a great loop, follow the North Trail, which twists and turns its way down to the lake through a 75-year-old forest of cedar, fir, hemlock, as well as red alder at peak maturity and even some Pacific yews. Then follow the shore south past monstrous black cottonwoods to the South Ridge Trail, the park's finest. It climbs from the shore steeply up a narrow spine of deep forest before returning to the main park grounds. The total loop is almost three miles.

St. Edwards features a large, unique children's play structure that was financed and built by the community. There are also ball fields and many trails, some that connect to Big Finn Hill.  Wildlife includes owls, eagles and many birds.  The park is open year round 8 a.m. to dusk.  First-come-first-serve picnic tables are available and reservations for picnic areas can also be made by calling the park manager at (425) 823-2992.

O.O. Denny Park

A true gem for the Finn Hill Community, O.O. Denny Park can be humming with activity all summer and incredibly quiet in the off seasons.

O. O. Denny Park, named for Orion Denny (1853-1916), son of Seattle founder Arthur Denny, is located on Finn Hill, northwest of Juanita, on the Eastside of Lake Washington off of Holmes Point Drive. The property was Orion's country estate, and his widow willed it to the City of Seattle. Seattle continued to own the park and for years operated it as an overnight campsite for Seattle children. Later King County managed it for the City as part of the King County park system. Today, on behalf of the City of Seattle, the Finn Hill Park and Recreation District manages the O. O. Denny Park for the enjoyment of all.

The park features ample waterfront, a beach area and natural areas.  It is a great gathering spot for the Finn Hill Community and many of our neighbors.  There is a small parking lot which is often full on warm summer days.  There is also picnic tables and a picnic shelter that can be reserved for groups.
